During these turbulent times I've had a lot of time to think about the ways in which I, as a young Black woman, can most effectively tell stories. More and more I find myself wanting to enter a broadcast journalism space. I was in graduate school during the time the Unite the Right rally took place in Charlottesville and on the grounds of UVA, and I remember very clearly the aftermath of those events. The following fall semester I began volunteering at the local Progressive Talk Radio Station as an On-Air Announcer and Associate Producer/Board Operator because I wanted to be a part of a space that delivered pertinent information to the people of Charlottesville.
Once again I am in a space where I want to tell stories that inform, educate, and inspire, especially as it pertains to politics and racial and social inequality, in a narrative and journalistic way. As a bilingual black female I believe that I can also tap into many different sectors of society. My desire is to work in television or radio. I've worked a year and a half at the radio station and I have many experiences on-camera with acting projects. In addition, I have also held legal, sales, and administrative jobs. I am seeking an on-air position in broadcast journalism. I am currently based out of New York City but willing to relocate if necessary for the right opportunity.
