More about me
I'm kind of a beginner in radio. I worked on "Last Call: the New Orleans Dyke Bar Oral History Project" (2015-16) and it's follow-up project, "Queer histories Queer Futures." (2019) I'm currently working on a project called "We Are The Promised Land" about Black families' relationships with their Ancestors and the work of orchestrating reparations for them in our own lives.

I also play cello, viola and guitar, with loops. I do this singer songwriter thing. I've scored film projects including "Artist in Exile" featuring Poet, Sunni Patterson. I'm currently scoring "We, the 100 Million" which is poetry driven documentary about life below the poverty line in the US with 6 poets in 6 cities. That project will premiere later in 2020.

Earlier this year, I co-produced "Letters from the Porch: New Orleans Serenades its Medical Community" earlier this year in response to COVID 19. It is a video series in which individual musicians or poets or (mostly) small groups performed short sets on their porches or the street in gratitude for the work of hospital workers in these times. There are 38 videos, all on youtube and lettersfromtheporch.com.

Currently, I'm in the process of co-founding the Alphabet Sound Observatory with my friend and Colleague Sultana Isham. We would like to make it possible for Black and Idigenous women and LGBTQIA+ artists of color to access high quality audio engineering gear and training at no to low cost to eliminate the filter of white men from sound centered disciplines. We received our first grant recently and will soon launch our audio gear lending library and our first online training sessions.
