More about me
Aïsha is an internationally known DJ & Community organizer who has a good sense of team leadership. Started off as an indie filmmaker, Aïsha Vertus alias GAYANCE (DJ) with her documentary called ‘’Piu Piu, a film about Montreal beat scene’’ (2012) who got major attention in the underground scene in the West Coast USA, France and Belgium. She followed up with a compilation trilogy available on Bandcamp. She pursues a career of music consultant / A&R for many artists at their very beginning.

Aïsha Vertus worked as a writer and approaches social-cultural subjects with music as the main portal. She was a host on web TV media in Quebec (33MAG, VICE Québe, France and US.

In 2013, the girl boss with a passion for global sounds started sharing her musical discovery. Gayance’s DJ sets are always a trek around the world. A full-blown pleasure cruise, in fact, with a killer selection of Caribbean & Brazilian Carnival tracks and UK Garage, with influences ranging from Broken Beats to Detroit and New York House music. Then, when she does online mixes. GAYANCE started her mix series ‘’WITCHES BREW’’ where she tends to play Psychedelic 70’s Brazilian Rock, Samba, Haitian RaRa, Neo-Soul & LoFi Hip Hop beats. Tearing up venues in Paris, Berlin, Munich, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, New York, Rio De Janeiro, São Paulo, Bogota, Marrakesh, Antwerp, Ghent and Brussels one by one as she goes.

She's worked as a freelance journalist / radio host for Red Bull Music Academy, Red Bull Radio, The Fader, VICE Canada, VICELAND France & she's currently a panelist on Radio-Canada's On Dira Ce qu'On Voudra hosted by Rebecca Makonnen.
