Marcelo Quinonez is a Canadian-American composer, songwriter, and sound designer. He is a diverse and multifaceted artist, possessing the uncanny ability to create powerful compositions that convey vivid emotions and imagery. His compositions have been used in such television shows as Full Frontal with Samantha Bee (TBS), Biography (CBS), The Steve Harvey Show (NBC), Amish Mafia (Discovery), Pawn Stars (History), Gene Simmons: Family Jewels (A&E), The Real Housewives of Miami (Bravo), Teen Mom (MTV), Marriage Boot Camp (WE TV), House of DVF (E!), Alaska Wing Men (Nat Geo) as well as many others.
His music has also been placed in numerous films such as Mercy, Pelotero, Help Wanted and Into the Fog to name a few. Including original feature scores written and produced for A.C.O.R.N.S.: Operation Crackdown (2014) and The Conduit (2013).
Marcelo has also been involved in creating music for marketing campaigns for Marriott, Toys R Us, Piro, Corvaso Fitness Systems, and EDH Animation.
As a young man Marcelo studied under professional flamenco guitarist Christopher Carnes. From there he went to find great success in the Latin Alternative music genre, blending a variety of styles and sounds influenced by his Nicaraguan heritage and his passion for musical knowledge and culture. Marcelo has been fortunate to play with such talents as Lhasa De Sela, Quetzal, Ry Cooder, Susana Baca, Victoria Justice, Christopher Carnes and Sierra Leone's Refugee All Stars.
Across his career Marcelo has refined and developed his skills as a writer, performer and producer. Inspired and influenced by the works of Lalo Schifrin, Ennio Morricone, Gustavo Santaolalla, and Danny Elfman, he began composing for tv and film.
These days, Marcelo is grateful for the opportunity to devote all his energy to his main passions composing score and designing sound.
