I run the experimental music series Sound Thought, a collective of experimental sound artists, composers, and audio engineers. Sound Thought aims to provide a platform for postgraduates, recent graduates, and emerging practitioners working in experimental sound and music to exhibit their work and build community. We are also passionate about youth education and engagement. Our activities range from producing and promoting gigs and concerts, leading soundwalks, hosting festivals and conferences, presenting an ongoing radio show, delivering workshops for young people, and exhibiting installations.
I co-host the podcast Essential Blends with Adriana Minu. The podcast aims to engage with artist practitioners from various disciplines, both within and outwith academia, in order to uncover some possibilities of practice that others might find inspiring. The format is conversational and informal. Alongside the conversation, we ask our guests to compile short audio sections that expose their practice directly. We are keen to expose the often unseen part of having a sustainable practice, the biggest milestones, low points, as well as what other randomness life has brought along the way. Success stories are often not straight forward and it is these meanders and tangents we are keen to learn more about.
I play in the experimental duo Dronehopper and enjoy improvising with friends. I work at the University of Glasgow as the Project Coordinator for The Dear Green Bothy programme of arts and humanities responses to the climate crisis, as well as for the Collaborations & Cultural Activities programme in the School of Culture & Creative Arts. I am an Oxford Contemporary Music Boom Artist and I'm participating in Sound and Music and Making Music UK’s ‘Adopt a Music Creator’ programme, collaborating with the Scottish Chamber Choir. I participated in Wandelweiser’s Composers Meet Composers 2022.
