Before joining podcast network Maximum Fun, I worked at two public radio stations in Southern California.
At KPCC, I was an intern for the public affairs program, Off-Ramp. During my year at KPCC I took listeners all over Southern California: to SoCal’s first cider bar in Long Beach, to a gyoza eating championship in Little Tokyo, and even a Korean BBQ restaurant in Montclair where robot overlords serve the food. Who could forget the time I introduced listeners to the grumpiest Christmas elf? At KKJZ, I was an intern for the special projects department. I wrote promotional copy for public radio, assisted with social media, and updated the radio station server with new music and syndicated shows.
I'm a graduate of California State University, Long Beach. I held various positions at the Daily 49er, the student-run newspaper on campus. But perhaps most importantly I was the newspaper carrier for the 49er.
I still play Pokémon Go, and my favorite Pokémon is Slowpoke.
