As a proud BIPOC (both indigenous and black) born and raised in the US to first generation immigrants from the Caribbean, I offer the inside perspective of the Afro-Caribbean diaspora, and have first-hand experience living as an expat in: the UK, New Zealand, Switzerland, and Germany where I was based for 15+ years. While attending Columbia University, I specialized in additional coursework via several institutes including: IRAAS: Institute for Research in African-American Studies, AFAS: African American and African Diaspora Studies, CSER: Center for the Study of Ethnicity and Race.
