Zakiya Gibbons

I'm an audio producer and host based in Brooklyn, NY. Currently I am a producer for the hit podcast Nancy, a production of WNYC Studios. Nancy was named one of the best podcasts of the year by TIME, Entertainment Weekly, and The Guardian. I have extensive experience with the following: idea generation, pitching, interviewing, moderating round tables, hosting, reporting, writing compelling scripts, editing audio using Pro Tools, consulting, providing editorial feedback, and more. I've been a producer on NPR's Latino USA, Gimlet's Every Little Thing, and I was a key player in shaping, producing, and launching Kickstarter's debut podcast, Just the Beginning. I'm also a co-host of that podcast. I've been selected as a Third Coast/Ragdale Radio Resident, and an AIR New Voices Scholar. I enjoy telling queer and POC-centric narrative stories. In my spare time, I make an experimental fictional podcast that I describe as "Broad City meets Adult Swim humor and surrealism."
